The Job Details: The Industrial Engineering Intern will be responsible for conducting work measurement studies in the warehouse, aiding in the development of engineered labor standards for employees, and implementing efficient process improvements for the facility. This individual must have a sound knowledge of the distribution process as well as the use of technology-based solutions to increase productivity, quality, and service levels. The Industrial Engineering Intern must have the ability to analyze operational processes, document prospective solutions, and present these solutions to upper management personnel. - Create/update/maintain engineered labor standards, reflecting best practices and preferred methods for warehouse roles (In house training will be provided)
- Perform time studies to reflect best practices and identify processes
- Perform machine time studies and collect frequencies for engineered labor standards
- Perform time studies on preventative maintenance tasks
- Lead the implementation of process improvements and develop metrics to ensure compliance and measurable value
- Review engineering specifications, production data, and process workflows to gain a comprehensive understanding of current methods
- Analyze distribution processes and identify areas of opportunity for improvement
- Develop new methods/tools to improve processes
- Identify opportunities and eliminate waste in key business processes
- Create technical documents on findings to present to management

What We Are Looking For: Education - Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, or any other applicable degree with a strong focus in process improvement, data interpretation, or mathematics
Experience - Experience with Labor Management Standards (MOST or MSD) preferred
- Experience with applicable software and computer language (Tableau, MS Office, Power BI, SQL, VBA, Java, Javascript, R Studio, etc.) preferred
Other Abilities You Will Need to Have: - Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong mathematical and reading comprehension skills
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions, including company policies
- Self-starter that can work independently and also coordinate with others
- Ability to schedule own tasks and handle all facets of assigned projects independently and with minimal supervision
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to manage stress and productivity guidelines
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
- Must be located in the same geographic location as the job or willing to relocate yourself
- Have acceptable and / or correctable vision
- Ability to sit and /or stand for extended periods of time
- Be able to see, speak and hear
- Bend and lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
- Lift up to 70lbs with assistance on an occasional basis
- Use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls
- Use scanners, tablets, radio, phones, and other warehouse machinery
- Willing and able to work in a temperature-controlled environment ranging from +50°F to -20°F, with moderate noise levels
