Job Description

The Produce Experience Associate plays a key role in supporting wholesale produce customers in selecting and transporting their purchased fruit and vegetable inventory. This is a part-time, hourly position for summer 2025 in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that blends hands-on labor with personalized customer interaction and strategic thinking. Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist customers in identifying products that meet their quality, price, and timeline needs
• Act as a trusted advisor, walking buyers through warehouse coolers and offering recommendations on ripeness, quality, and seasonal availability
• Lift, carry, and load 25-50 lb produce boxes, efficiently and with care, ensuring buyer satisfaction and product safety 
• Verify that order details align with invoices, ensuring each load meets quality standards and is presented professionally
• Build deep knowledge of produce varieties, seasonality, shelf life, and sourcing to become an expert resource for buyers
• Communicate with warehouse and fulfillment teams to ensure orders are accurate and spoilage is minimized
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment by regularly tidying pallet areas
• Develop strong relationships with repeat customers, understanding their preferences and anticipating their needs
• Be prepared to think strategically and act quickly to close a sale or resolve challenges in real time
• Engage in on-the-spot negotiations and adjustments to meet customer expectations and secure ongoing business

Requirements:

• Available to work part-time hours (approx. 20-25 hours/week) during the summer season (June through August 2025). 
• Flexibility in schedule - early morning availability is a plus. 
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the day
• Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor, with the ability to confidently interact with a wide range of customers, including business owners and buyers
• High level of reliability, integrity, and attention to detail
• A customer-first mindset, with a willingness to do what it takes to ensure satisfaction
• This is a non-exempt, hourly role with a pay rate of $16.50 per hour.
